Cave Exploration Blog

Matt found a pretty cool weblog called Rock Watching. This weblog is maintained by Mick Gordon, who likes to get squished between a rock and a hard place. It’s an interesting read (as far as I have come, with my limited time this past week) and quite inspiring. Geeks love caves. I know I’ll go over this for Dungeons & Dragons inspirations as soon as I get back from my next vacation. Mick, consider yourself blogrolled! :-)

Thanks for visiting my site. I too was a big D&D player. I am not sure which led to what but caving and D&D have definite similarities. For one, aside from the fantasy encounters in D&D there is still a very real fear and the territory is totally virgin in many cases. You construct a caving team much as you would a party in D&D each individual with atributes that are of use to the goal - survival and exploration. I had been a seriously adicted D&D player about 30 years ago. People had no idea what I was up to, most thought I was a little cracked. Thanks for linking. Mick http://rockwatching.wordpress.com
